September 7, 2026: In a significant gesture of institutional support towards public welfare initiatives, the State Bank of India (SBI) has contributed ₹1.30 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), Odisha.The contribution was formally handed over to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on Monday. SBI Chief General Manager Rakesh Kumar Yadav presented the cheque to the Chief Minister.The financial assistance comes as part of SBI’s broader commitment to supporting relief and welfare efforts, particularly those aimed at extending assistance to people affected by difficult circumstances and emergencies.The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund serves as an important mechanism for providing financial assistance to vulnerable sections of society and supporting relief measures during crises. Contributions from institutions such as SBI strengthen the fund’s capacity to respond to pressing humanitarian and public welfare requirements.The cheque presentation also highlighted the role of banking institutions beyond their conventional financial responsibilities.
