Solar-powered traffic post, EV charging station, 100-capacity Gaushala, yoga and meditation centre and three drinking-water kiosks among projects launched in Nimapara
GTNS, SEPTEMBER 14, 2026, NIMAPARA, ODISHA: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida laid the foundation stones for a series of development and public-welfare projects in Nimapara, signalling a focus on sustainable infrastructure, public amenities and community-oriented facilities in the area.
During her visit, the Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated the foundation-laying process for several projects designed to address different aspects of urban and community infrastructure, including clean-energy initiatives, electric mobility, drinking water, animal welfare and wellness.
Solar-powered traffic infrastructure at Jayshree Chhak
One of the notable projects is a solar-powered traffic post at Jayshree Chhak.
The initiative brings renewable energy into traffic-related infrastructure and reflects a broader push towards energy-efficient public facilities. Solar-powered systems can help reduce dependence on conventional electricity while supporting the use of clean energy in civic infrastructure.
EV charging station to support electric mobility
A foundation stone was also laid for an electric vehicle charging station.
The project assumes significance as electric mobility continues to expand across India. The availability of charging infrastructure is considered an important requirement for encouraging greater adoption of electric vehicles and supporting a cleaner transport ecosystem.
100-capacity Gaushala planned
Another major project announced during the visit is a Gaushala with a capacity to accommodate 100 cattle.
The proposed facility is aimed at providing dedicated space and care for cattle while creating a more organised animal-welfare infrastructure in the area.
Yoga and meditation centre
A yoga and meditation centre is also among the projects for which the foundation stone was laid.
The proposed centre is expected to provide a dedicated space for yoga, meditation and wellness-related activities, adding a community health and well-being dimension to the development package.
Three drinking-water kiosks
Alongside these projects, foundation stones were laid for three drinking-water kiosks.
Access to safe and convenient drinking water remains an important public-service requirement, particularly in busy public areas. The kiosks are expected to provide drinking-water facilities for residents and visitors.
A development package with a wider focus
The projects together represent a combination of green infrastructure, electric mobility, public health, drinking-water access and animal welfare.
From solar-powered traffic infrastructure and EV charging to drinking-water kiosks and wellness facilities, the initiatives indicate an effort to combine conventional development with newer sustainability-oriented public amenities.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida’s visit to Nimapara and the foundation-laying ceremony have therefore brought multiple development priorities together under one programme, with the projects now moving towards their implementation phase.
The focus will now shift from foundation stones to timely execution, quality of construction and whether the proposed facilities deliver the intended public benefit once completed.
