Arnod records the highest polling at 91.98%, while Bhilwara Municipal Corporation registers 63.84%
JAIPUR: GTNS , SEPTEMBER 10, 2026; Rajasthan recorded a strong voter turnout in the first phase of its municipal elections, with 76.41 per cent of registered voters casting their ballots, according to the final figures released by the State Election Commission.
The first phase covered 162 urban local bodies, where more than 43.95 lakh voters exercised their franchise.
Over 57 Lakh Voters Registered
As per the official figures, 57,52,280 voters were eligible to vote in the first phase. Of them, 43,95,488 voters turned out to cast their votes.
The polling percentage varied considerably among different urban local bodies, with several municipalities recording participation above 85 per cent.
Arnod Leads Turnout
Arnod Municipality in Pratapgarh district emerged as the top-performing urban body in terms of voter participation, registering an impressive 91.98 per cent turnout.
It was followed by Sepau in Dholpur with 90.87 per cent and Pahari Municipality in Bharatpur with 90.36 per cent.
Other urban bodies, including Tinwari, Balesar Sata, Pipar City, Dudu, Kaladera, Bahadurpur and Nasirabad, also recorded turnout of more than 89 per cent.
54 Bodies Cross 85% Mark
The State Election Department said 54 of the 162 urban local bodies recorded polling above the 85 per cent mark.
The Jaipur district municipalities of Chomu and Shahpura were also among the bodies registering more than 85 per cent voter participation.
Bhilwara Records Lowest Turnout
In contrast, Bhilwara Municipal Corporation recorded the lowest turnout in the first phase at 63.84 per cent.
The significant variation in polling percentages across the state reflects differing levels of voter participation among Rajasthan’s urban constituencies.
Strong Participation Marks First Phase
The overall turnout of 76.41 per cent indicates substantial voter engagement in the opening phase of Rajasthan’s civic election process. The final polling figures are expected to provide important insights into participation patterns across the state’s municipalities as the electoral process continues.
