Rae Bareli, GTNS | September 09, 2026: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s arrival at the Rae Bareli Collectorate on Wednesday was briefly accompanied by a slogan that brought a political undertone to his constituency visit.
Gandhi had reached the district headquarters to attend a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), a forum used to review the implementation of development programmes and related issues.
As the Congress leader entered the Collectorate premises, some people in the area were heard raising the expression “naraaz fufa.” The slogan appeared to be directed at Gandhi, turning an otherwise official arrival into a brief moment of political messaging.
The expression has featured in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political rhetoric against opposition leaders. Modi has used the phrase while criticising those he says remain dissatisfied with the country’s development despite its progress.
The episode comes against the backdrop of continued political contestation between the BJP and Congress, with statements and slogans increasingly becoming part of public engagements involving senior leaders.
Gandhi’s primary purpose in Rae Bareli was the DISHA meeting, where local development concerns and the progress of government-backed schemes were scheduled for discussion. His presence in the constituency also attracted attention from supporters, political observers and members of the public.
The brief slogan exchange did not alter the scheduled proceedings, but it added a political layer to the Congress leader’s visit and quickly became a talking point surrounding his arrival.
