Prime Minister acknowledges nationwide greetings as service and public outreach programmes mark his birthday
GTNS, SEPTEMBER 17, 2026 ,NEW DELHI — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday thanked people across India for the greetings, affection and blessings extended to him on his birthday.
In a message shared on the occasion, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the widespread wishes he received from citizens in different parts of the country.
Modi said the goodwill and blessings conveyed by people on his birthday were deeply valued, describing the public response as a source of encouragement.
The Prime Minister’s birthday coincides this year with a series of service-oriented programmes being conducted in different parts of the country. Blood donation camps, cleanliness initiatives, health-related activities and other community programmes have been organised as part of the celebrations.
Several BJP units and affiliated organisations have also launched public-service activities under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, with volunteers participating in programmes intended to support communities.
The birthday observances are also taking place against the backdrop of Modi completing 25 years in public life, a milestone being highlighted in programmes organised by his party and supporters.
The Prime Minister’s message came as greetings poured in from political leaders, public representatives, organisations and citizens on Thursday.
Rather than focusing only on celebrations, several programmes associated with the occasion have centred on voluntary service and community participation, including blood donation and cleanliness activities.
The Prime Minister thanked citizens for their affection and good wishes as nationwide programmes continued throughout the day.
