Governor briefs Prime Minister on implementation of key central initiatives in Odisha; Lok Bhavan’s IGBC Platinum certification also discussed
GTNS | NEW DELHI | OCTOBER 1, 2026 , NEW DELHI | OCTOBER 1: Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday, with the discussions centred on development-related matters concerning Odisha and the progress of major Central government schemes being implemented in the state.
According to an official account of the meeting, the Governor updated the Prime Minister on the status of various Central schemes in Odisha and the progress made in their implementation. The interaction provided an overview of issues linked to development and the execution of centrally supported programmes across the state.
A separate aspect of the meeting was Odisha Lok Bhavan’s recent recognition under the Indian Green Building Council’s (IGBC) green campus rating system. The Governor briefed Prime Minister Modi about the Platinum certification received by the Governor’s official residence in Bhubaneswar.
The certification is significant for the state’s public infrastructure agenda. Lok Bhavan’s official website lists the campus as having an IGBC Green Campus Platinum rating, while the complex has also undertaken renewable-energy initiatives, including a 485 kWp rooftop solar installation inaugurated earlier this year, taking its total solar capacity to 635 kW.
The meeting therefore brought together two broad areas of discussion—Odisha’s development priorities and the implementation of Central schemes, alongside the state’s recent move towards greener public infrastructure.
Dr. Kambhampati has been serving as Governor of Odisha since January 2025. The official Lok Bhavan profile records that he was appointed Governor of Odisha by the President of India in December 2024 and subsequently took oath in Bhubaneswar.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister and the Governor exchanged mementos.
The interaction comes at a time when implementation of development programmes and coordination between different levels of government remain important components of Odisha’s public policy and infrastructure agenda.
