Odisha Launches UAE Investment Mission Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Reviews Preparations for High-Level Investor Engagements in Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI / India/ Bhubaneswar, GTNS, September 08/26 : Odisha has taken its investment campaign to the United Arab Emirates with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi leading a high-level delegation aimed at attracting global capital, technology and industrial partnerships to the State.The delegation includes Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department Hemant Sharma and senior officials from the Industries Department and IPICOL.Soon after his arrival, Majhi reviewed preparations for key investor and business meetings planned in Abu Dhabi. He also held discussions with representatives of the Indian Embassy on strengthening economic cooperation and expanding people-to-people ties between India and the UAE.
The Chief Minister highlighted the contribution of Odias living and working in the UAE, describing them as an important link between Odisha and the Gulf region. He stressed the need to ensure continued support, opportunities and ease of living for the Odia community.
On September 9, the Odisha delegation will hold high-level interactions with major UAE institutions, investors and business leaders, including representatives of International Holding Company (IHC), Indian Business and Professional Group (IBPG) and senior investment officials. Discussions will also focus on the chemicals and petrochemicals sectors.
Odisha will showcase its natural resources, industrial infrastructure, ports, power availability, skilled workforce and market connectivity to attract long-term investment and technology partnerships.
The visit is focused on strengthening Odisha’s economic relationship with the UAE and presenting investment opportunities across manufacturing, metals and downstream industries, logistics, ports, chemicals, petrochemicals, food processing, technology and other emerging sectors.After reaching Abu Dhabi, the delegation moved into preparations for a series of high-level meetings with investors and institutions. Hemant Sharma reviewed the arrangements and held discussions with Indian Embassy officials and members involved in coordinating the Odisha investment programme.Chief Minister Majhi is scheduled to engage with major UAE-based investors and institutions, including a roundtable with International Holding Company (IHC), along with meetings involving the UAE’s investment leadership and sovereign investment institutions. The programme also includes proposed business agreements and investment-oriented discussions.The Odisha government is presenting the State as an investment-ready destination with strong infrastructure, natural resources, connectivity, policy support and a growing industrial ecosystem.The UAE outreach will subsequently move to Dubai, where the Chief Minister is scheduled to hold direct meetings with industry leaders and prospective investors. The programme will also include an Odisha Investors’ Meet and an interaction with members of the Odia diaspora. The visit, scheduled from September 9 to 11, aims to strengthen Odisha-UAE economic ties and attract investments in manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, logistics and emerging industries.
