SEPTEMBER 21, 2026 , BHUBANESWAR: A senior Indian Army officer met the Governor of Odisha at Lok Bhavan on Monday, with discussions covering regional security and the continuing role of the armed forces in strengthening civil-military engagement.
Brigadier R. Shankar, VSM, Commander, Chhattisgarh & Odisha Sub Area, called on the Governor during the meeting. The interaction provided an opportunity to exchange views on security-related matters concerning the region as well as broader issues of national importance.
The discussion also touched upon the Indian Army’s continuing engagement with civilian institutions and communities. Such interactions form part of the wider civil-military interface through which the armed forces maintain institutional engagement with the civil administration and society.
