NEW DELH ,INDIA ; GTNS, SEPTEMBER 11, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday participated in the BRICS Business Forum at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, highlighting the importance of stronger business partnerships, investment and economic cooperation among BRICS countries.
The forum brought together business leaders, investors, policymakers and representatives of major economic sectors ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit, which will be hosted in New Delhi on September 12 and 13.
The Prime Minister’s participation underscored India’s focus on giving greater momentum to commercial engagement within BRICS. Discussions at the business forum are centred on expanding trade and investment, encouraging innovation and technology cooperation, strengthening supply chains and creating new opportunities for businesses across emerging economies.
India is also seeking to use its BRICS presidency to deepen cooperation with the wider Global South and promote a more representative and balanced international economic order.
The business forum provides an important platform for companies from BRICS nations to identify new partnerships and investment opportunities. Greater private-sector participation is expected to remain an important component of efforts to convert diplomatic engagement into concrete economic outcomes.
The event also sets the stage for the leaders’ summit, where economic cooperation, development, trade and other global and regional issues are expected to feature prominently.
With BRICS expanding its economic and geopolitical footprint, India’s approach is focused on strengthening practical cooperation while creating greater opportunities for businesses and investors across member countries.
