Jammu, August 30: Security forces have intensified surveillance and launched search operations in parts of Jammu and Kashmir following suspected drone activity along the Line of Control.
According to security sources, a suspected Pakistani drone was spotted over the Behrooti area of Mendhar in Poonch district late Friday evening. The UAV was reportedly tracked towards the Mangalnar-Dabrote axis before returning towards the Pakistan side.
The incident prompted increased aerial and ground surveillance in forward areas.
Security forces have also launched joint cordon-and-search operations in parts of Poonch and Rajouri after reports of suspected movement of armed individuals in forested areas.
Officials are maintaining heightened vigilance to determine whether any weapons, ammunition or other material may have been dropped by drones.
The latest incident comes amid continuing security concerns regarding the use of unmanned aerial vehicles along the India-Pakistan border.
