India star joins Jan Kaushal Kendra, Moti Nagar, as Brand Ambassador with focus on skills, opportunities and youth empowerment

SEPTEMBER 19, 2026 , NEW DELHI — Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met Indian cricketer Sanju Samson and congratulated him on taking up a new role as Brand Ambassador of Jan Kaushal Kendra in Moti Nagar.
The meeting comes as Samson takes on a role extending beyond the cricket field, with the initiative seeking to connect his public profile with opportunities for skill development and youth empowerment in the national capital. The appointment has been made by the Madan Lal Khurana Foundation.
Gupta highlighted Samson’s long-standing association with Delhi, noting that he spent part of his early years in the capital and began his cricketing journey there. The Chief Minister said his association with the skill-development initiative could help encourage young people to pursue skills, opportunities and self-reliance.
The meeting was also attended by BJP MLA Harish Khurana and senior representatives associated with the Trinity Foundation and IACT Education, according to the reported details of the interaction.
Samson’s new Delhi connection comes at a notable point in his cricketing career. During India’s recent T20I series against Afghanistan, he reached the milestone of 9,000 runs in T20 cricket and subsequently took his overall tally to 9,027 runs in 351 T20 matches, according to reports.
The Indian wicketkeeper-batter also produced a 57-run innings in the second T20I against Afghanistan, while India went on to complete a 3-0 series sweep.
The Jan Kaushal Kendra association places Samson in a public-facing campaign aimed at encouraging young people to look at skill development as a pathway to employment and greater economic independence.
For Delhi, the meeting also links the popularity of a prominent sportsperson with a youth-oriented skill initiative, creating a platform through which Samson’s sporting journey can be presented alongside messages about education, skills and opportunity.
